I normally stay away from sessions that are booked less than two weeks out but this session right here had me excited
from the moment I received Adrienne’s initial inquiry email. This wasn’t like any other family sessions I’ve shot before, it was for four
generations of women.
As someone who is constantly preaching to get those family photos done,
as someone who grew up away from extended family (grandparents, cousins, aunts, etc.)
through most of her life,
as someone who grew up with immigrant parents who just focused on providing for their family and rarely had family photos done without a cell phone, you know this session inquiry pulled on my heart.
I knew it was meaningful and I immediately wanted to be the one to capture this beautiful family bond. This life giving force. To give life to others while giving life to ourselves at the same time is what womanhood is about, isn’t it?
Photographing Adrienne with her mother, grandmother, and little girl felt as easy and as wonderful as having coffee
with a life-long friend. They were carefree, loving, joyful… I mean, everything us family photographers think of when thinking of an ideal client.
If you made it to the bottom of this blog post and if you have a family – doesn’t matter what that family looks like (two dads, just mom, just your siblings, just the auntie that raised you… you get it) – I want to tell you that you need photos together. If phone photos are the best you can do, then print those photos! blow them up, please! We have no problem buying the biggest tv out there, why not print our precious family photos?
You need to see yourselves. You need to see not just what your faces look like but also a representation of your bond, of what your family is going through together, of how it feels to be you right now.
Those pictures on your phone, maybe you’ll share them on social media but guess what? after 24 hrs, those photos on the internet die. You get to see them again next year and once a year after that, when Facebook reminds you.
I want you to have– I WANT TO GIVE YOU something you will look at and cherish. I want to give you something that will last.
And if you’re ready to book that family session with me, if you have a vision, something you would like to create together, please reach out. My email is clickinmarphoto@gmail.com, or you can also fill out this form: http://www.clickinmarphoto.com/contact
