Photographed at New York Bridal Fashion Week for Ines Di Santo | Renaissance Reimagined
The Elegance of Ines Di Santo’s Renaissance Reimagined Collection
As a wedding photographer, there is nothing more exciting and inspiring than photographing the latest bridal fashion trends at NYBFW. This year was my second year in a row being invited to be part of this, and the one designer + show that truly got my eye was Ines Di Santo’s.
Ines’ show was like stepping right into a renaissance art piece, a dreamscape, a breathtaking display of bridal fashion blending historical and modern artistry. A note from Ines:
“I see each garment as a living painting. Every fold, every movement, becomes a brushstroke. I
wanted my designs to capture that same visceral emotion you feel when looking at a Renaissance masterpiece –timeless, yet full of life.”
A Timeless Collection With A Modern Twist
Renaissance Reimagined is inspired by the romanticism of the Renaissance era but with a more contemporary twist. Think of the opulence and grandeur of ballrooms and the timeless beauty of period art and translate all of that into designs
that were made for bold and adventurous brides.
Photographing the unveiling of this collection was truly like photographing a living work of art. Delicate embroidery, intricate lace work, fabric that flowed like a painter’s brushstrokes.
Ines’ designs ranged from dramatic and grand to sleek, form fitting. A look for every bride (and even bridesmaids, or mother of the bride!)
As a wedding photographer, I’m always keeping an eye out for those small details that make quite literally anything (a dress, a tablescape, a room design) truly unique and Ines Di Santo delivered. Her designs featured unique details, like intricate lace and delicate beading, corsetry, cascading trains, illusion necklines. Every detail was clearly intentional and brought each design to life.

A Dose of Renaissance Inspiration For Your Wedding Photography
If you’re in your bridal era and are considering a fabulous gown from Ines Di Santo’s Renaissane Reimagined collection,
I have a few tips for you!
First, the lavish style of these designs pair perfectly with venues that give off that grandeur style. Think of lush gardens
(like Vizcaya Gardens), hotels with dramatic architecture (like the iconic Biltmore Hotel), or historic mansions (like The Ancient Spanish Monastery or DuPont Building).
Next, these gowns need soft, natural light in order to truly shine. The textures and layers of lace will photograph beautifully especially during golden hour –picture that ethereal, painterly effect that brings the Renaissance inspo to life.
This is not to say the designs will not photograph just as beautifully indoors/in artificial light!
As you can see in my images, a dimly lit/moody light set up with some shadow and light play can bring out some of the drama the goes perfectly with the style of these gowns.
A Photographer’s Dream. Final Thoughts
As a wedding photographer, bridal fashion is absolutely beautiful (and one of my favorite things to photograph) but can sometimes feel repetitive. Ines Di Santo’s latest collection is a refreshing take on risks and what it means to be a modern bride that is inspired by timeless art. This collection is not just a collection of dresses, they’re statements that beautifully blend artistry and passion.
NYBFW is such a special event for me to be a part of. It’s a whirlwind of excitement, challenges, and inspiration. The atmosphere at Ines Di Santo’s show was truly electric and refreshing.
