Miami Dade Courthouse Wedding

Some love stories unfold quietly, intentionally, and with focus on what truly matters. The Samas chose to celebrate their wedding day intimately with courthouse wedding followed by a laid-back reception at Casadonna.

Married intentionally on 11/11, their day was deeply personal, refined, and proof that meaningful moments don’t need to be grand to be unforgettable.

Courthouse weddings have become increasingly popular among couples who value intentionality and know they can have a simple day that’s also elegant.

Whether you are planning a small celebration ahead of a larger wedding or dreaming up an intimate elopement, a courthouse wedding is the perfect place for elegant and timeless photographs.

One of my favorite things about photographing a courthouse wedding is the freedom to slow down a bit and focus on the couple without the chaos of a full wedding day.

With this lovely couple, we had plenty of time to explore the beautiful architecture, play with the changing light, and capture some moments that felt truly relaxed.

Their portraits perfectly reflect the authenticity of the day.

A Few Tips For Couples Planning Courthouse Wedding Photos

  • Opt for chic and minimal outfits. Clean lines, sleek silhouettes, and timeless color palettes will elevate your photos and give that courthouse setting an editorial twist.
  • Schedule time around the best lighting. As you would for any session, right? Early morning or late afternoon light is soft, glowing, and most ideal.
  • Bring a small bouquette. Even simple florals can polish and elevate your look.
  • Don’t rush the experience. Give yourself 30 to 45 minutes after your ceremony to explore the area surrounding the courthouse and capture a mix of posed and candid portraits. This is especially important if your courthouse tends to get busy! Make time for portraits.
  • Embrace the architecture. Don’t be afraid to use the staircases, steps, columns, balconies, and large windows for variations.
