(for those of you who still use them for your businesses!).
Last month, I had the pleasure of working on a branding session with the talented wedding planner, Jennifer, from Amara Rose Events
which inspired me to share with you a few tips on how to nail down the best location for your next branding session!
HOW TO FIND THE BEST BRANDING LOCATION FOR YOUR SESSION
- Define your brand’s aesthetic. If your brand is neutral-toned, bright, minimalistic, then a bold and colorful urban space
will not do. The location you choose should fit in with the overall aesthetic of your brand.
The beautiful thing about South Florida
is that there is zero shortage of chic AirBnBs and creative studio spaces that easily fit any style.
For this specific branding session with Jennifer, we decided on Casa Terra Lumi, a very minimalistic home which
beautiful geometric lux details.
2. Research, research, research! Especially with AirBnb spaces, make sure you are allowed to do photo sessions.
Unfortunately, some places do not allow it. Other places that may not be indoors, may require a photography permit.
Take a proactive approach and don’t just leave it up to your photographer to find out what is needed to conduct a photo session in someone else’s space,
unless you’re specifically renting a photography studio.
3. Look for spaces that will give you a variety of images. Do they have any props on site? Do they have an outside area?
Maybe a clean wall for your standard headshot? Do you need enough space to fit a large group or stage a scene?
My goal with any session is always to approach it with the intention of delivering a diverse gallery. Yes, props and outfit changes
help but a versatile location will really set the tone.
