Couples Anniversary Session at Bonneville Salt Flats

As a South Florida photographer who gets to experience summertime pretty much year-round, working out of the beautiful state of Utah every now and then can get to be a breath of fresh air. Sabrina and Dallan reached out to me when I announced on Instagram about an upcoming visit to Utah where I was hoping to shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I immediately jumped for joy when they pitched their idea to me: minimalistic 70s inspired wedding anniversary shoot.
Minimalistic? Heck yes baby! The Bonneville Salt Flats is THE place for this.
70s inspired? Sure!
Wedding anniversary shoot? A little unusual but when we got to chatting a bit more about this, they shared that they had gotten married at the courthouse the year prior, followed by a dinner they shared with their closest friends and immediate family… in other words, they had very few photos from this special day and decided they wanted to have a proper bride and groom session -on their own terms!
I mean, how fun and unique, right?
Getting to the Salt Flats from Salt Lake City is a 2-hr. Trip and not a very scenic one. On the way there, the weather went from perfectly clear skies to an impending storm real fast. I’m used to this quick change of weather and these two had the best energy so we were determined to make it happen,
