There’s something almost magical about the beach at sunrise: the salty breeze, the soft sand, and the soothing sounds of the waves.
In my experience as a family photographer in South Florida, this is truly one of the most perfect combinations for a family session.
West Palm Beach | Family & Maternity Photographer
My best tip when choosing a beach location as backdrop for family or maternity sessions is to look for a beach with a variety of
textures and elements, like rocks, fishing piers, or charming beach huts, to create visual interest and variety in your images.
If none of these things are available -then I look for a clean beach: minimal buildings in the background, minimal beach chairs,
and definitely no beach tents.
Keep in mind that the beach can be a busy place (especially between Miami and Fort Lauderdale!)
so it’s best to find a location with fewer tourists and beachgoers for a more intimate photoshoot experience.
Lighting plays a crucial role in capturing stunning family photos.
In my experience, the best time for a beach session is during the golden hour, the period just before sunrise or before sunset
when the sunlight is soft and diffused.
These magical hours provide a warm, glowing ambiance that is flattering for every family member, and the dreamy light can add an ethereal touch to your images.
